What it costs for your usage

The biggest difference is how you pay. TurboScribe sells a subscription; TranscribeNest also sells hours you buy once and keep. Here's what each would cost at a few typical levels of use, with the cheapest option on each side:

Your usageTranscribeNestTurboScribe
One 2-hour interview, once$6 (10-hour pack, 8 hours left over)$20 (one month of Unlimited)
About 5 hours a month$24 a year (two 30-hour packs)$120 a year (yearly plan)
About 20 hours a month$96 a year (Pro, yearly)$120 a year (yearly plan)
150 hours a monthPro plus extra hours: well over $120 a year$120 a year (yearly plan)

Files of up to 30 minutes are free on both services, within 3 files a day, so short recordings cost nothing on either.

TranscribeNest is the better fit if…

  • You transcribe now and then and don't want a monthly plan or a renewal to remember.
  • You want to pay for what you use: $6 covers 10 hours, and unused hours don't expire.
  • Your recordings have names, brands or jargon you want spelled right: add them before uploading.
  • You transcribe large videos: only the audio track leaves your device.
  • You want to try one file without creating an account.

TurboScribe is the better fit if…

  • You need speaker labels on every transcript.
  • You need translations of your transcripts or subtitles.
  • You upload dozens of files at once, or transcribe well over 100 hours a month.
  • You need PDF downloads.

FAQ

Questions about switching

Can't find an answer? Email us.

Is TranscribeNest affiliated with TurboScribe?

No. TranscribeNest is an independent service. TurboScribe is a trademark of its owner, and its details on this page come from its public website.

Is the transcription as accurate?

Both use modern AI speech recognition, and accuracy depends far more on the recording than on the service: a close microphone, little background noise and one speaker at a time matter most. The best test is your own file: the first one needs no sign-up.

Do I need an account to try it?

Not for your first file. After that, signing in with your email or Google gives you 3 free files a day, with no credit card.

Can I cancel Pro at any time?

Yes, from your account page, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. Pay-as-you-go hours are a one-time purchase, so there's nothing to cancel.
