Transcribe a call recording
Upload the recording your phone, call recorder app, VoIP system or sales tool saved: MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG and most other audio formats work as they are.
You get the whole call as text with timestamps, so you can find the moment a price, date or decision was mentioned and copy it into your notes, a ticket or your CRM.
Voicemail to text
- 1Save the voicemail as a file. On iPhone, open the Phone app, go to Voicemail, tap the message and use the share button to save it to Files. On Android, the options depend on your carrier and voicemail app; many let you share or download the message.
- 2Open this page and drop the file into the upload box.
- 3Copy the text, or download it as TXT.
Good to know
Phone audio is lower quality than a studio recording, so transcripts of calls can contain more mistakes than transcripts of podcasts or meetings, especially on bad lines.
TranscribeNest transcribes recordings you already have; it doesn't record calls. Many places require everyone on a call to agree before it's recorded, so check the rules where you and the other person are.
Audio is deleted from our servers as soon as the transcript is ready.
How it works
From recording to text in three steps
- 1
Upload
Drop in any audio or video file. The audio track is extracted in your browser, so even large videos upload quickly.
- 2
Transcribe
Our AI transcriber turns the speech into text with timestamps and groups it into readable paragraphs. You can close the tab while it works.
- 3
Use it
Copy the text, search it, or download TXT, SRT or VTT. The audio is deleted once the transcript is ready.

Private by default
Audio is deleted as soon as the transcript is ready. Delete transcripts any time.
Does the transcript show who said what?
Not yet. The call comes back as one transcript with timestamps, without labels for each speaker. Speaker labels are on our roadmap.
Is call transcription free?
Yes, for up to 3 recordings a day of up to 30 minutes each, with no credit card. For more, buy hours or go Unlimited.
How accurate is the transcription?
We use state-of-the-art AI speech recognition. Clear recordings typically come out near-verbatim; heavy background noise, people talking over each other and very strong accents reduce accuracy.
What happens to my files?
Audio is converted in your browser, uploaded only to transcribe it, and deleted as soon as the transcript is ready. You can delete transcripts at any time.
How long can a file be?
Free files can be up to 30 minutes. Paid plans support files up to 10 hours each.
What's the difference between pay-as-you-go and Unlimited?
Pay-as-you-go credits are a one-time purchase that never expires — good for occasional long files. Unlimited is a subscription with no daily file limit, subject to fair use of 100 hours per 30 days.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Manage or cancel your subscription from your account page; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
